Tuition Teacher / Assistant Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Diploma or equivalent
  • Be able to enthuse and inspire children
  • Good communication skills and fluent in both, oral and written English
  • Good communication skills and fluent in both, oral and written Chinese (preferred)
  • Be willing to contribute to a dynamic and hardworking team
  • Have excellent personal attendance and punctuality record
  • Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position with these roles
Duties and Responsibilities 1. Support for Learners
  • To have regard for the safety and well-being of the Learners at all times
  • To work alongside the individual and groups of Learners in activities specified by the class teacher, establishing good relationships and acting as a role model
  • To encourage inclusion within the classroom
  • To encourage Learners to interact within the classroom
  • To encourage Learners to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
  • To encourage good personal hygiene an assist with necessary independence skills (e.g. feeding, toileting, dressing etc.)
2. Support for Teachers
  • To receive instruction from teachers regarding the daily/weekly programme of activities and events
  • To set out, prepare, use, tidy and clean equipment after use.

    Assist in the general preparation and tidying of the classroom under supervision

  • To be aware of Learners’ problems/progress/ achievements and report to the teacher as agreed
  • To provide administrative and clerical support e.g record keeping, photocopying, filing and etc.
  • To assist in the display of Learners work to reflect their achievement
  • To work within the Institution established Rewards and Sanctions policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, reporting difficulties as appropriate
3. Support for the Curriculum
  • To prepare and assist specific activities, supporting Learners to understand instructions in respect of any learning strategies’
  • Support Learners in respect of national learning strategies e.g. literacy, numeracy, early years, as directed by the Senior Teacher

Support for the Institution

  • To attend appropriate staff meetings as required
  • To be aware of all Health & Safety issues
  • To treat all information relating to a child as strictly confidential and refer all enquiries to your immediate line manager
  • To assist with the general supervision of children, including before and after lesson, during break times and /or when required
  • To be a proactive member of the institution and teaching assistant team
  • To attend relevant professional development, in order to update knowledge
  • To promote the policies and ethos of the Institution
5. General
  • The Teaching Assistant may be called upon to perform other duties that the Senior Leadership considers reasonable, that are commensurate with the regarding and designation of the post
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Contract

Contract length: 24 months

Part-time hours: 25-48 per week

Pay: From RM30.00 per hour
