Senior Business Development Engineer

Our client is seeking a driven and commercially minded Senior Business Development Executive to support the company’s expansion in Northern Malaysia. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy consultative selling, managing customer relationships, and identifying new market opportunities within industrial sectors. The role combines strategic account management with active business development and offers exposure to regional and global projects across high-growth industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow new business opportunities within sectors such as semiconductor, electronics, EV, medical devices, and industrial manufacturing.
  • Strengthen and manage relationships with existing key accounts while aligning with regional and global business strategies.
  • Engage customers through a consultative sales approach, from understanding technical requirements to proposal preparation and commercial negotiation.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and supply chain teams to deliver customized protective packaging solutions.
  • Promote sustainable and cost-efficient packaging initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Identify market trends, untapped opportunities, and strategic projects to support long-term business growth.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipelines and customer data through CRM systems to support forecasting and reporting.
  • Monitor payment collections and support healthy account receivable performance.
  • Participate in business planning and contribute toward achieving regional sales targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related disciplines.
  • Approximately 2–4 years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management within B2B or industrial environments.
  • Exposure to industrial or protective packaging solutions is an added advantage.
  • Understanding of packaging materials such as corrugated paper, foam, wood, or plastics would be beneficial.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging decision-makers.
  • Ability to understand customer applications, technical requirements, or engineering drawings is preferred.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented personality with strong commercial awareness.
  • Comfortable using CRM tools, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Mandarin language capability is highly advantageous due to regional project coordination and customer engagement.
