Transformation Business Analyst (Banking | KL, Malaysia)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Transformation Business Analyst to support large-scale banking and financial services transformation initiatives across regional and global environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in bridging business and technology teams, driving strategic transformation programs, and delivering impactful business outcomes within complex banking ecosystems.

This role is ideal for professionals who possess strong domain expertise in banking or financial services, combined with excellent stakeholder management, business analysis, and transformation delivery capabilities.

Fluency in English is mandatory, while spoken and written Mandarin and/or Cantonese will be highly advantageous due to regional stakeholder engagement requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and project managers to gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements
  • Lead workshops, requirement discovery sessions, and stakeholder discussions independently across cross-functional teams
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and solution documentation
  • Support transformation initiatives involving process improvement, digitalisation, automation, and operational streamlining
  • Evaluate current business processes and identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvements
  • Work closely with technology teams to ensure proposed solutions align with business objectives and operational requirements
  • Participate in business case development and contribute towards defining transformation roadmaps and strategic initiatives
  • Facilitate stakeholder alignment, manage competing priorities, and resolve requirement ambiguities or conflicts
  • Drive change management activities and support implementation across various banking functions and user groups
  • Ensure successful delivery of transformation programs within timelines, scope, and quality expectations
  • Support UAT planning, execution, issue resolution, and post-implementation activities where required
  • Operate effectively within large, complex, and global banking environments with multiple stakeholders
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst within banking, financial services, or large-scale transformation environments
  • Strong experience in requirements gathering across both business operations and technology-focused projects
  • Solid understanding of financial services operations, banking products, and transformation initiatives
  • Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and independently lead meetings, workshops, and discussions
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across different levels
  • Ability to challenge ineffective requirements, identify gaps, and recommend practical solutions
  • Experience delivering change management and transformation initiatives within banking environments
  • Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, regional, and highly matrixed organisations
