Senior Design Engineer

Responsibility

  1. To guide and enhance Design Engineer in Bi-drum boiler design application (Cogen/Refinery/Power Plant).
  2. Ensure accuracy of engineering design in term of drawing and calculation from Design Engineer or draughtsman.
  3. Establish the standard of Bi-drum boiler design.
  4. To guide and advice on ASME vessel design.
  5. Provide boiler technical data/information as required by internal customer. (Internal customer includes project/production/QC/Sales team).
  6. To assist on departmental objective on pressure part and non-pressure part on-time delivery.
  7. Check and verify Boiler Specification Record (BSR) against customer requirements in sales contract.
  8. Perform product stress calculation and drawings according to BSR, Boiler or Unfired Pressure Vessel (UPV) design code (BS1113/ASME Sec.I or Sec.VIII Div.1) and statutory regulations (FMA.1967).
  9. Liaise with 3rd inspecting party and JKKP for securing Boiler or UPV design approval.
  10. Issue Fabrication drawings to workshop/contractors.
  11. To assist in features improvement and optimization for Bi-drum application.
  12. To assist in developing new product design.
  13. Site visit and improve existing boiler design as required.

Experience/Skills Required
  1. Degree in Mechanical/Structural/Chemical Engineering recognised by Board of Engineers (BEM).
  2. Engineering knowledge in heat transfer, combustion, strength of material and fluid mechanic.
  3. Knowledge in engineering drawing and able to operate CAD software (AutoCAD 2D/Solid Work 3D).
  4. Accumulated experience on the process of boiler fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning, operation and maintenance.
  5. Able to understand clearly and resolve the engineering design matter.
  6. Able to cope up with the market trend, price conscious, and exceed customers’ expectations.
