About the role

We are seeking a talented Confinement Chef to join our dedicated team at Hi Baby Confinement Center in Melaka. As a Confinement Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to support the health and wellbeing of our new mothers and their babies during the confinement period. This is a full-time role that is integral to the success of our respected confinement care services.

What you'll be doing

  1. Developing and preparing delicious, healthy confinement meals based on traditional recipes and modern nutritional requirements
  2. Skilled in preparing healthy confinement-friendly baked goods, traditional pastries, and nourishing desserts
  3. Experience in creating low-sugar, nutritious snacks suitable for postpartum mothers
  4. Ensuring all meals are prepared to the highest food safety and hygiene standards
  5. Collaborating with our client liaison team to understand and cater to the unique dietary needs and preferences of each new mother
  6. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
  7. Monitoring stock levels and placing orders for necessary ingredients and supplies
  8. Providing exceptional customer service to our clients throughout their confinement journey
  9. Food handling certification or relevant culinary qualifications preferred
What we're looking for
  1. Formal culinary training or certification in Malay/Chinese confinement cuisine
  2. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Confinement Chef or in a similar role
  3. Strong knowledge of traditional confinement meal preparation and the nutritional needs of new mothers
  4. Excellent time management and multitasking skills to handle multiple meal orders simultaneously
  5. Passion for creating delicious, healthy meals and delivering exceptional customer service
  6. Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
