<div><strong>Job Description</strong><br/><br/><strong>Job Overview</strong><br/><br/>The Senior Manager, Facilities - Alarm Projects and Repair is responsible for overseeing Macy's fire and burglar alarm systems repair and project programs, a scope that directly impacts store safety, operational continuity, and expense control. This critical role ensures that alarm repairs are completed in a timely manner to support life safety and security standards, minimizing system downtime and limiting related costs. The Senior Manager provides leadership and technical guidance to the alarm operations team and vendors, driving process improvements and maintaining accountability for effective alarm issue resolution and successful completion of alarm upgrade projects.<br/><br/><strong>What You Will Do</strong><br/><ul><li>Oversee day-to-day fire and burglar alarm repair operations across all locations, including management of alarm-related work orders in ServiceChannel, to ensure issues are resolved promptly, downtime is minimized, and extra costs are avoided.</li> <li>Lead direct reports in support of maintaining and advancing the capabilities and dependability of alarm systems.</li> <li>Lead direct reports to schedule and verify alarm inspections and certifications as required or warranted. </li> <li>Manage the alarm ticketing and work order process in partnership with the MSOC team, making sure alarm incidents are addressed effectively and escalated when necessary.</li> <li>Guide remediation of alarm system deficiencies by reviewing and approving fire and burglar alarm repair proposals and ensuring corrective actions are carried out appropriately.</li> <li>Ensure reliable alarm communications (phone lines, cellular, network) by promptly resolving any service interruptions in coordination with providers.</li> <li>Lead major alarm system upgrade projects and new alarm installations, overseeing system design and RFP processes.</li> <li>Ensure new or upgraded burglar/fire alarm systems are delivered on time and within budget.</li> <li>Support leadership direction and embrace change.</li> <li>Manage financial commitments. </li> <li>Assist in developing policies and procedures.</li> <li>Generate ideas for improvement.</li> <li>Collaborate with business partners and third-party providers (e.g. Asset Protection and alarm service vendors) to improve alarm program effectiveness.</li> <li>Ensure clear, thorough communication of alarm activities and updates across all relevant stakeholders (including the MSOC team), to maintain alignment and transparency.</li> <li>Provide feedback on team challenges/issues to continuously improve operations.</li> <li>Develop a culture of ownership and accountability within the alarm projects and repair team and its partners.</li> <li>Execute additional responsibilities as directed.</li> <li>Off hour on-call support and occasional travel required.</li> <li>Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities. </li> <li>Exhibit regular, dependable attendance & punctuality. </li></ul><br/><strong>Skills You Will Need</strong><br/><br/><strong>Leadership:</strong> Strong leadership, teamwork, organizational, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels, and excellent negotiation skills.<br/><br/><strong>Technical Proficiency:</strong> Ability to write and work with spreadsheets and databases (Excel and Access) is desired. <br/><br/><strong>Analytical Skills:</strong> Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.<br/><br/><strong>Communication:</strong> Organized, with superior follow up as well as interpersonal skills in order to present information in manners which are usable based on a variety of audiences. <br/><br/><strong>Financial Acumen:</strong> Ability to make recommendations for financial expenditures, manage expenses, and develop long-term financial plans.<br/><br/><strong>Relationship Building:</strong> Proficiency in developing and maintaining relationships with internal teams and external partners.<br/><br/><strong>Problem-Solving:</strong> Strong problem-solving skills to address emergencies and disruptions promptly and effectively.<br/><br/><strong>Reliability:</strong> Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs. <br/><br/><strong>Who You Are</strong><br/><ul><li>High school diploma or Bachelor's degree is required and/or 5-7 years experience in related job is preferred.</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.</li> <li>Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus building skills.</li> <li>Presentation, written, and verbal communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate issues and solutions to all levels of business.</li> <li>Strong sense of urgency and excellent follow up skills with ability to prioritize and achieve target dates.</li> <li>Proficient in basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.</li> <li>This position requires regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking.
