Sr. Global Supply Manager, Powertrain Capex

Description:

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to identify qualified suppliers that meet Lucid’s technical and timeline requirements.
  • Create RFQs, review supplier quotations, and develop sourcing recommendations based on cost, quality, lead time, and technical factors.
  • Negotiate contracts covering equipment pricing, tooling, development, timing, spare parts, and payment terms.
  • Work with suppliers and Manufacturing to manage design changes and their impact on programs.
  • Manage supplier development, equipment timelines, and part availability for prototype builds and start of production.
  • Develop and execute solutions for delays, problems, and commercial issues that arise during sourcing and execution.
  • Own key supplier relationships across sourcing, development, tooling, industrialization, launch, and ongoing business management.
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing during design to balance manufacturability with capital equipment opportunities.
  • Prepare internal report-outs on sourcing status, availability, and cost status.
  • Travel 15-25% to suppliers for business and program reviews.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, supply chain, or finance discipline.
  • MBA preferred; master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of Purchasing, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Engineering experience related to capital equipment or product assembly processes.
  • 5-7 years of Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering experience preferred, ideally in the automotive industry.
  • Understanding of automotive assembly processes, with experience preferred in areas such as general/part assembly, battery assembly, powertrain assembly, body shop, robots, dispense, fastening systems, or paint lines.
  • Product launch experience, with hands-on involvement working with engineering, manufacturing, and quality during equipment build, test, and installation.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality principles.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, written, verbal, organizational, and program management skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent.
  • Ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively.
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity for learning in-scope manufacturing processes on assigned interior commodities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first mindset that supports collaboration and problem resolution.
