Principal Data Scientist, Analytics

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Data Scientist specializing in Analytics to join our Data Science team at Kajabi. In this high-impact role, you will own and optimize our end-to-end data ecosystem to drive proactive insights and strategic recommendations across various functions, including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Operations. You’ll play a critical role in achieving Kajabi’s key objectives, such as growth, engagement, and revenue maximization, by designing data-driven models and frameworks that align with our overarching company goals. 

The Impact you will make

  • Data Strategy and Insights: Develop a deep understanding of Kajabi’s data landscape to identify opportunities for analytics-driven improvements. Deliver actionable recommendations to stakeholders across multiple teams to support company-wide objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and Operations to define and track metrics that directly impact Kajabi’s OKRs related to user growth, engagement, and revenue.
  • Advanced Modeling and Analytics: Leverage advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to build models for forecasting, ROI analysis, performance marketing, customer lifetime value (LTV), and recommendation systems. Optimize these models to ensure their relevance and accuracy in driving business outcomes.
  • Business Impact Analysis: Analyze and communicate how key initiatives influence Kajabi’s top-line and bottom-line metrics, providing data-backed recommendations that support company growth.
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership Influence: Act as a thought leader by presenting data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions to maximize growth and engagement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and refine analytics processes to improve data accuracy, scalability, and accessibility across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a successful track record of driving top-line and bottom-line impact, preferably within a SaaS or tech environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in advanced data analysis tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, and R, and experienced in developing and operationalizing machine learning models.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to translate complex data insights into strategic recommendations, especially in areas like performance marketing, ROI, LTV, forecasting, and recommendation systems.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Proven experience collaborating effectively across Product, Marketing, Engineering, Finance, and Operations, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for data-driven improvements.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

In-Office Requirement Statement

We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. 

  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration or attend company events 1-2 times a quarter. 

Pay Range

$143,000—$191,000 + equity + bonus
