M365 Systems Engineer III - AI and Collaboration (Remote)

<strong>Overview<br><br></strong>This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): Arizona, North Carolina and Texas.<br><br>We are seeking a skilled <strong>Systems Engineer III </strong>to join our team with a primary focus on the implementation and optimization of <strong>Microsoft Copilot and AI-powered capabilities within Microsoft 365</strong>. The <strong>Systems Engineer III</strong> is a member of the Digital Workplace Technology Collaboration Engineering team and is responsible for delivering high quality and innovative technology solutions to the end user community.<br><br>This role will lead the adoption, governance, and operationalization of Copilot across the enterprise, ensuring secure, compliant, and high-value use of AI technologies. The Systems Engineer III will evaluate, deploy, and manage Copilot features across Microsoft 365 workloads, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and drive end-user value realization. The role requires balancing strong technical expertise with business acumen to maximize productivity gains and align with organizational goals<br><br><strong>Responsibilities & Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>TECHNOLOGY STACK <br><br></strong><ul><li>Active Directory, Entra ID </li><li>Office 365 </li><li>Microsoft Copilot </li><li>Exchange Online </li><li>SharePoint Online </li><li>OneDrive </li><li>Teams </li><li>Purview <br><br></li></ul><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: <br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead the implementation, configuration, and ongoing administration of Microsoft Copilot across M365 workloads including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams </li><li>Collaborate with Information Security teams to define and enforce governance, compliance, and security frameworks for Copilot and AI-enabled services in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Partner with stakeholders to identify and prioritize Copilot use cases and design the technical solutions and controls to drive adoption and measurable business outcomes. </li><li>Administer and optimize Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams to support Copilot readiness and sustain usage. </li><li>Collaborate with Information Security teams to ensure data protection, information lifecycle management, and compliance controls are in place for AI-generated content. </li><li>Design, build, test, and deploy automation and scripting solutions to support Copilot deployment, monitoring, and reporting. </li><li>Monitor service health, usage analytics, and adoption metrics to continuously improve Copilot experience and ROI. </li><li>Act as a subject matter expert during IT audits and assessments, identifying risks and mitigation strategies related to AI and M365 services. </li><li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives by gathering user feedback and reviewing Microsoft’s product releases including the Microsoft product roadmap to create a pipeline of enhancements focused on productivity, efficiency, and user experience. </li><li>Provide mentorship and technical guidance to system administrators and engineers, fostering growth and accountability <br><br></li></ul><strong>GENERAL DUTIES <br><br></strong><ul><li>Technical Support - Leads technical support and service in the installation and testing of software, patches, and upgrades to system products. Resolves complex problems and failures that occur in assigned products and technical facilities. Responsible for administration, communication, and documentation throughout technical support activities. Designs, implements, and maintains processes related to daily backup, recovery, data security, and other disaster recovery functions. </li><li>System Testing - Coordinates testing with application support staff to determine function, results, stability, performance, and resource consumption. Verifies the successful implementation of software, patches, and upgrades. Performs a variety of planning and technical activities to ensure resource availability. </li><li>System Enhancement - Works to continuously monitor and improve systems, processes, and related technical infrastructure. Improves technical effectiveness by automating tasks and utilizing programming or scripting to perform support duties. May utilize SMP/E, Iebgenr, Iebcopy, Rexx, Korn shell programming, Perl, Batch, FTP, Telnet, Netview, PowerShell, Python, Windows, Linux and AIX administrator functions, Quest, depending on the platform. </li><li>Technical Expertise - Maintains a strong knowledge base through ongoing research and education. Communicates effective and clear technical information to associates, vendor support personnel, and internal clients. Manages special or advanced technical projects.
