Legal Assistant

Glenn R. Matecun, PC is a client-centered estate planning and probate law firm committed to delivering thoughtful legal support. They are seeking a detail-oriented Probate Legal Assistant to take ownership of probate matters, maintain strong client relationships, and contribute to a professional team.

Responsibilities

  • Open probate estates and trust administrations; file probate pleadings, inventories, and accountings, and assist with closing estates
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients via phone and email
  • Prepare case materials and support two attorneys with primarily non-contested probate matters and trust administrations
  • Attend occasional in-person client meetings
  • Handle occasional court visits to file wills and related probate pleadings
  • Track billable time for both flat fee and hourly matters using firm software
  • Assist in refining and improving the firm’s probate and trust administration workflows, helping to create efficient, consistent systems
  • Occasional assistance with marketing and coordination of local estate planning and elder law workshops

Skills

  • 1+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate, empathetic approach
  • Experience with Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Systems-oriented and comfortable learning new technology
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through on tasks
  • Strong customer service background
  • Experience with DecisionVault/intake systems and/or Lawcus
  • Familiarity with billing or practice management software
  • Medicaid experience
