Lead Product Designer, Service OS

This role is a mission critical position that designs, maintains, and enables the Rivian vehicle service ecosystem. As Lead Product Designer, you will be dedicated to our enterprise product design team with a focus on supporting our back of house service operations across intake, fulfillment, and parts management. You will work across web and mobile apps to evolve, maintain, and refine our vehicle service tools and experiences. The opening can be located at our Northern California or Southern California facilities or be fully remote and reports directly to a Product Design Manager.

Responsibilities:

The essential functions of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Work in partnership with our service business leads, design, engineering, and product teams, contributing to active work tracks that accelerates service ops efficiency, understanding, and capabilities.
  • Evolve and maintain the service experience across intake, fulfillment, service center management, mobile ops, scheduling and resource management, and parts management.
  • Work within and expand our design system­– creating consistency, efficiency, and cohesion across the Rivian ecosystem.
  • Be an expert in our unique vehicle service ecosystem – take the complex and translate it into easy-to-use tools and clear digital user flows.
  • Be an expert context switcher across multiple projects to evolve the holistic service operations experience. 
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned within the scope of this position. 

Qualifications:

  • 6-10+ years of experience designing internal facing software for back of house service operations and teams
  • Deep experience leading design of highly complex vehicle service operations flows and software.
  • Deep experience working on digital services including service intake, fulfillment, service center management, appointment and resource scheduling, mobile ops, and parts management.  
  • Expertise in design system refinement, prototyping, and componentization to enable efficiency for both design and engineering
  • Comfort with presenting your work, explaining your thinking and working with others to bring your vision to life.
  • Familiarity with user research to inform and validate designs and concepts.
  • Appreciation for testing and iterating on work.
  • Ability to pick things up quickly, manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting timelines and priorities.
  • Innate interest and joy in working on complex back of house systems and a penchant towards extreme organization, detail, and constant maintenance of a rapidly evolving product.

Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $150,000-$188,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for Colorado Based Applicants: $144,000-$166,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for New York Based Applicants: $163,000-$188,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Salary Range for Washington Based Applicants: $150,000-$196,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
