IT System Administrator – Microsoft 365 Cloud/Azure

<p>Description</p><p><strong>PURPOSE OF POSITION:</strong></p><p>Axil Health is a privately owned pharmacist collective offering both independent pharmacy, consulting, and clinical services located inside established medical facilities.  We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join our team to help maintain our Microsoft (M365, Azure) cloud-first environment, IT infrastructure and distributed workforce. </p><p><br></p><p>The System Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, reliability, and continuous improvement of the organization’s on-premises network infrastructure and Microsoft cloud environment, including Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft 365 services. This role serves as a Hands on technical contributor supporting identity, endpoint management, and cloud infrastructure for a distributed workforce, ensuring systems are secure, highly available, and aligned with organizational and HIPAA healthcare compliance requirements, including the protection of systems that store or process electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI).</p><p><br></p><p>The System Administrator works closely with security, IT operations, and business teams to support user lifecycle management, device provisioning, access controls, and cloud resource management. In addition, this role supports the operational readiness and secure adoption of modern Microsoft and AI enabled tools, assisting with configuration, access controls, and usage alignment to ensure new technologies improve productivity while remaining compliant with security and regulatory standards.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></u></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure Administration</strong></p><ul><li>Administer and maintain the organization’s Microsoft cloud environment, including Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft 365 services.</li><li>Manage Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, and core platform services to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.</li><li>Monitor system health and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues impacting users or services.</li></ul><p><strong>Identity, Access & Endpoint Management</strong></p><ul><li>Support user lifecycle management, including onboarding, offboarding, role changes, and access provisioning.</li><li>Administer Microsoft Entra ID identities, groups, roles, and access controls in collaboration with security teams.</li><li>Configure and manage Intune for device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and application deployment.</li><li>Support secure access for a distributed remote workforce.</li></ul><p><strong>Security, Compliance & HIPAA Support</strong></p><ul><li>Operate systems in alignment with HIPAA healthcare compliance requirements, particularly for systems that store, process, or access electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI).</li><li>Apply system hardening, configuration standards, and compliance policies in coordination with security and compliance teams.</li><li>Assist with audits, access reviews, documentation, and operational evidence collection.</li></ul><p><strong>Automation & Operational Efficiency</strong></p><ul><li>Use PowerShell to automate routine administrative tasks, reporting, and system maintenance.</li><li>Improve operational consistency and efficiency through scripting, standardization, and repeatable processes.</li><li>Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational runbooks.</li></ul><p><strong>Technology Evaluation & Continuous Improvement</strong></p><ul><li>Investigate, evaluate, and help implement new Microsoft and related technologies that improve the organization’s reliability, scalability, security, and operational resilience.</li><li>Participate in proof-of-concepts, pilots, and technical reviews to assess operational impact and alignment with organizational standards.</li><li>Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and leadership teams to provide input on platform selection, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.</li></ul><p><strong>AI & Emerging Technology Enablement</strong></p><ul><li>Support the operational readiness and secure configuration of AI enabled tools, including Microsoft and third party solutions.</li><li>Assist with access controls, configuration, and usage alignment for new technologies to ensure they improve productivity while meeting security and compliance expectations.</li><li>Collaborate with security teams during modernization initiatives.</li></ul><p><u><strong>Required Skills & Qualifications</strong></u></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Core Technical Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Strong experience administering Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft 365.</li><li>Solid understanding of identity and access management, endpoint management, and cloud operations.</li><li>Hands-on experience using PowerShell for administration, automation, and reporting.</li></ul><p><strong>Compliance & Operational Knowledge</strong></p><ul><li>Familiarity with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory requirements as they relate to IT systems and access controls.</li><li>Experience supporting audits, access reviews, and compliance related operational processes.</li><li>Understanding of best practices for managing systems in cloud first and remote work environments.</li></ul><p><strong>Professional Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Strong troubleshooting
