Director of Regional Development

Meta designs, builds, leases, and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Meta is seeking a Director of Regional Development to develop Meta’s global data center portfolio in line with the company’s strategic objectives to advance our efforts around AI. This role has overall regional responsibility for development of the data center capacity. ResponsibilitiesGrow and lead the regional development program including identification and commercial structuring of development, site selection and capacity delivery opportunities to enable future data center capacity growth* Collaborate with key leaders across design, engineering, construction, network, and legal to develop the strategic plan needed to execute against the company’s aggressive capacity targets* Guide team members on overall strategic approach to developing new capacity while mitigating risk and ensuring that sufficient contingency plans are in place* Accountable for data center site selection and development within a defined geographic area within North America* Focus on delivering cost effective capacity while optimizing for flexibility and optionality* Represent Meta in meetings with executives from potential suppliers, governments, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders* Recruit, on-board, and mentor internal staff and ensure robust learning and career development* Travel domestically and internationally as needed (25%+)Qualifications15+ years of overall experience in industrial real estate, infrastructure and development space* Proven track record of delivering large scale multi-party deals resulting in data center capacity delivery* 8+ years experience managing regional programs and organizations* Proven commercial leadership and negotiation experience on multi-variable, complex deals involving scalable land, energy,and third party data center capacity* Proven track record of delivering large capital projects leveraging complex commercial structures* Experience developing the vision in opening new markets and new channels for Data Center capacity delivery* Strategic thinker with experience driving decision making in ambiguous environments with experience influencing high level stakeholders* Analytical problem-solving skills, experience being effective in a fast paced, hands-on work environment, and have a track record of success leading projects and developing complex solutions across multiple stakeholders* Competent collaborator and skilled cross-functional communicator* Communication and presentation skills* Proven track record of organizational leadership, including leading larger organizations and scaling teams during growth cycles* Knowledgeable about and/or experience to quickly assess industry trends and headwinds, market opportunities, and the competitive landscape
