Assistant Account Executive, NY Health Team

FINN Partners is a leading communications agency specializing in health communications, seeking an Assistant Account Executive for their NY Health Team. The role involves supporting clients in the biopharma and health advocacy sectors through writing, media pitching, and account management tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing and distributing pitch letters, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters, and other health communications materials
  • Write, proofread, and edit client-related documents, including pitches, press materials, news releases, and other editorial content
  • Compile comprehensive, targeted media lists, actively pitch media and secure earned media coverage
  • Support client media briefings, events, speaking opportunities and develop award submissions
  • Develop relationships with external audiences, including media, event organizers, advocacy contacts, and third-party stakeholders, to support client messaging
  • Monitor, track and report earned, owned and social media coverage of client news and competitor developments
  • Efficiently research key client topics to develop landscape analyses, media insights and identity thought leadership opportunities
  • Provide general account support, including participation in client meetings; agenda and recap development, tracker management and internal and external deadlines

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, journalism, public health or related field
  • Familiarity with public relations/communications programs as evidenced through completed college coursework, internships, or related work experience
  • Prior work experience or PR internships in public relations or communications role
  • A motivated, self-starter with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written, verbal and storytelling skills
  • Knowledge of social media tools and design platforms such as Canva, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram
  • Experience with research and measurement tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is a plus
